Our 2023 'Complexity' Shiraz is a collaboration between Milbrodale Farm and Unruly Wines — two producers who share a belief that the Broke Fordwich sub-region of the Hunter Valley is capable of something genuinely special.
The 2023 summer provided perfect growing and ripening conditions. The result is a Shiraz with dark fruit depth, structured grape tannins, and a subtle use of French oak that frames rather than dominates. It is wonderful to drink now and will reward cellaring over the next 10 years.
This is winemaking that lets the vintage speak for itself. And the 2023 vintage had a lot to say.
Pair it with: slow-braised lamb shoulder, aged cheddar, beef short ribs, or a fire and a good reason to stay at the table.
