Wines
What wines do you make?
We make six small-batch wines across Bubbles, Whites and Reds. Our Chardonnay, Verdelho and Chambourcin are grown on our own vineyard at Wild Vines Estate in Broke Fordwich, Hunter Valley. Our Complexity Shiraz is from our neighbours' vineyard, also in Broke Fordwich. No shortcuts. Just one place, honestly made.
Where is Unruly Wines?
Our vineyard, Wild Vines Estate, is at 703 Milbrodale Road, Fordwich NSW 2330, in the Broke Fordwich sub-region of the Hunter Valley.
What grapes do you grow?
Chardonnay, Verdelho and Chambourcin, on nine acres of sandy loam at the foot of the Brokenback Range.
How many bottles do you make?
Not many, and that's the point. Each release is small-batch by design. Once a vintage is gone, it's gone. If something catches your eye, don't wait.
Can I buy just one bottle?
Absolutely. There's no minimum order. One bottle, six bottles, or a full case, it's entirely up to you.
Tastings
How do I book a tasting?
Choose your experience on our Tastings page and book a time online. We'll confirm your booking by email within 24 hours. There are three experiences: a Wine Tasting (about 60 minutes), a Wine & Cheese Tasting with Hunter Belle cheeses (about 90 minutes) and a Wine & Chocolate Tasting with Essenze Chocolates (about 90 minutes).
How much does a tasting cost?
The Wine Tasting has no cost per person when you order an Unruly Discovery Pack, which we bring to your accommodation. The cheese pairing is $10 per person and the chocolate pairing is $20 per person. Current details are always on our Tastings page.
Where are tastings held?
Tastings are held at your accommodation in the heart of the Broke Fordwich sub-region of the Hunter Valley.
Do you have a cellar door I can walk into?
Not yet, but it opens this summer. Right now all tastings are by appointment only. This keeps every experience intimate and genuinely personal, which is exactly how we like it.
Do you offer tastings at accommodation?
Yes, that's how all our tastings work right now. We come to wherever you're staying in Broke Fordwich and bring the wines, plus the cheese or chocolate if you've added a pairing.
What is your cancellation policy for tastings?
Cancellations made more than 48 hours before your booking incur no charge. Cancellations within 48 hours incur a 50% charge. No-shows are charged in full. Full details are on our Cancellation Policy page.
Ordering & Payment
How do I place an order?
Browse our online store, add your wines to cart and checkout. It takes about two minutes. We accept all major credit cards and PayPal.
Can I buy a gift card?
Yes. Unruly Wines gift cards are available online and make a genuinely good gift for anyone who loves beautiful wine experiences. They can be used towards any purchase in our store. Wines, tastings, the lot.
Do you offer gift wrapping?
Yes. When purchasing wines, you can add gift wrapping at checkout. Perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, dinner party hosts, or anyone who deserves a proper moment.
Shipping & Delivery
We use all major carriers, and local courier partners. You’ll be asked to select a delivery method during checkout.
Do you ship across Australia?
Yes, we ship to most addresses across Australia. Enter your postcode at checkout to confirm delivery to your area and see your shipping options.
How long does delivery take?
Delivery times vary by location. Once your order is dispatched you'll receive a tracking number so you can follow it to your door.
Do you ship internationally?
Not at this stage. We're focused on getting our wines to Australian wine lovers first.
How is the wine packaged?
Your wine is packed carefully to make sure it arrives in perfect condition. We take the same care packing your order as we do making the wine.
Loyalty & Membership
Do you have a wine club?
Yes. OWN RULES, our wine club of 100, is open now. You can join on our Wine Club page. Join by 30 November & your first pack arrives in time for Christmas.
What is OWN RULES?
OWN RULES is our wine club, capped at 100 members. Choose a six (20% off our bottle prices) or a dozen (30% off), quarterly or six-monthly. You choose your wines for every pack, & you write one rule of your own that Fred packs your box to. Members also get a Chambourcin vine from our home block, first pick of every new release, invitations to members-only events & free private tastings at our cellar door once it opens. Do you have a loyalty program?
Not yet, but we're working on one. Watch this space. In the meantime, OWN RULES is our wine club. Details are on our Wine Club page.
